18-YEAR-OLD DIES FOLLOWING KAZUNGULA ROAD ACCIDENT

An 18-year-old male, Robert Nosiku, has died following a road traffic accident that occurred on 12th June, 2026, in Kazungula District.

According to information gathered, the accident happened between 16:00 and 17:00 hours when Robert was travelling with his brother, Bonwell Nosiku, in a vehicle that later overturned after the driver allegedly attempted to avoid a cyclist.

Following the accident, both victims were rushed to Kazungula District Hospital before being referred to Livingstone University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for specialised treatment.

Robert Nosiku later succumbed to his injuries approximately 24 hours after being admitted to the hospital.

His brother, Bonwell Nosiku, who was driving the vehicle, remains admitted to Livingstone University Teaching Hospital, where he is receiving medical care.

The late Robert Nosiku completed his secondary education last year, obtaining 12 points in his Grade 12 examinations.
