I AM OFFICIALLY VOTING FOR....

After carefully listening to the campaign messages and critically analysing the candidates, I have finally made my choice. Now, my fellow citizens, voting is not something we should take lightly. Before you choose your candidate, ask yourself: What exactly are they promising? Can they realistically deliver? What have they done before? Do they have the character, competence and vision to lead? Are they offering solutions or simply making sweet promises because elections are around the corner? 😂 Most importantly, am I choosing this person because I believe in their ability to serve, or simply because my family, friends, tribe or political group told me to?

And please, don't say, “All politicians are the same, so I won't vote.” Your decision not to vote is also a decision, and thousands of people making the same decision can change an election result. Imagine someone winning not because they were the people's first choice, but because the people who could have voted stayed home. So, put tribalism, carderism, personal hatred and blind loyalty aside. Don't vote for someone simply because your uncle, friend or neighbour said, “Uyu ndiye munthu.” 😂 . Think for yourself. Ask intelligent questions, listen to the candidates and make a decision you can defend with facts, not emotions.

Your vote is your right and your voice. Use it wisely, responsibly and without malice. Pray about it, analyse what you have heard, and then make your choice. We may disagree on who deserves your vote, but let us at least agree that our country deserves citizens who participate. A few days to go. Go out and vote. May the best candidate win, and may Zambia be the ultimate winner.
