Local knowledge Mappers, starts a year on a lighter note.
Executive and members met some partners from Map billing.
This is a huge milestone in a right direction, as LKM aimed to map and connect many things on the map.

In October our team was honored to participate in Tree Planting Training organized by -NDC project and Just one Tree . We extend our appreciation to FAO United Nations for inviting us. This was more than just a training but a wake up call to take action and drive a positive change in our community.

We were proud to be part of the in Zambia! πŸ—ΊοΈ

Together with 20 passionate young mappers, half of them women , we mapped key forest areas, roads, buildings, and waterways using open-source tools like QGIS, JOSM, and OpenStreetMap.

Why it matters: This data will boost forest protection, support community resilience, and guide smarter land-use planning. From tracking deforestation to improving disaster preparedness, we’re turning open data into action for a more resilient Zambia! πŸŒ³πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡²

Huge thanks to the SLIM project, co-funded by the EU, Sweden, and Czechia, and implemented with People in Need and YouthMappers. Grateful to everyone who joined and contributed.
