A true full-circle moment for Ebusaka 💚♻️
As we attended the 2025 Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority ICT Innovation Programme Awards, graced by the Honourable Minister of Technology and Science,Hon. Felix Chipota Mutati, we were reminded of how far the journey has come.
Just two years ago, eBusaka stood in the same shoes as the finalists announced this week — hopeful, ambitious, and determined to solve a real problem. After completing an intensive six-month innovation programme, and competing with 500+ innovators across the country, Ebusaka emerged 1st Place Winners of the 2023 ZICTA ICT Innovation Programme.
That milestone played a key role in shaping what Ebusaka is today.
Since then, Ebusaka has grown from an idea into a platform on the verge of becoming a household name, driving the digital transformation of waste management and advancing the circular economy in Zambia.
To the 2025 finalists: stay focused, stay resilient, and keep building — the journey is worth it.
We are grateful to ZICTA, the Ministry of Technology and Science, and all programme partners for believing in local innovation and supporting Zambian startups.

Yesterday, our Founder, Muyunda Kaonga, had the opportunity to present to scientists at the National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (NISIR) on how they can transform their innovative ideas into viable business ventures.
We shared the ebusaka journey and how innovation can be turned into impactful, scalable solutions that create both social and economic value.
A huge thank you to NISIR for the warm welcome and for giving us the chance to also learn more about the incredible research happening in Zambia.

We win together!
This year at the 97th Agricultural & Commercial Show, Ebusaka—exhibiting in partnership with Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority —was awarded Best Interpretation of the Theme: Adapting to Climate Change.
Our journey with ZICTA began in 2023 when we emerged 1st Place Winners in the ZICTA ICT Innovation Programme. This partnership continues to grow—and so does our impact.
Ebusaka is transforming how communities manage waste through digital innovation, data-driven solutions, and inclusive models that build climate resilience. By rethinking waste, we’re helping cities adapt to the realities of climate change while creating cleaner, smarter futures for all.
