Hello all,

We are pleased to share with you Blue Byte Analytics data hub developed using Esri's ArcGIS Hub. We are in the initial stages of growing the data hub and datasets. Yet, and so as not to duplicate efforts or share shapefiles that may already be available from other sources (e.g. ZamStats, Zambia Data Hub, OpenStreetMap, GRID3 Data Hub, etc.) one of our main initiatives focuses on historical data that may not be available in shapefile format elsewhere. We create this data and make it available for public download.

In this light, we are delighted to release our first dataset, the 1938 provincial and district boundaries of Zambia (then Northern Rhodesia) available for open download for research, informative or educative purposes; A dataset some have already been requesting for. We have a feedback form on our site for more insight from data users.

All data comes with detailed metadata and research sources. If you have time, do take a tour and share feedback! (best visualized on a computer). You can also reach us by email on [email protected].

This week brings flashbacks to the years I would continuously mull over creating a company in the line of work I had come to enjoy. Fast-forward to this moment, I am pleased to share that our company, Blue Byte Analytics, has been awarded a free 1-year license for ArcGIS products (ArcGIS Online, Desktop, Pro, +extensions, among others) by Esri, a global market leader in geographic information system (GIS) software, location intelligence, and mapping.
