The first thing that you can do to help look after yourself when living with Bipolar Disorder is to become an expert on the condition. Since Bipolar is a lifetime condition, like any other medical disorder, it is essential that you and your family learn as much as you can about the Disorder and its treatment. Read books, attend webinars, read articles, visit websites, talk to your therapist or doctor, and consider joining a Support Group in your area to learn from others on how to manage day-to-day life and your medications. Here are some extra self-care tips that you can do to help yourself cope better every day. Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder range from extreme highs, known as mania, or extreme lows, known as depression. Each person with Bipolar Disorder may experience symptoms differently.
