Sê Jou Sê NPC would like to remind all residents of Strand and Gordon’s Bay that this coming weekend (1–2 August 2026) is the last voter registration weekend before the local government election on 4 November 2026.

Our community has made an important decision to support a ward candidate, and we respect Brent Louis for his decision to stand and for the political party he has chosen to represent.

Brent has consistently served the community by helping residents access basic services, logging service delivery requests, and assisting people in times of need. Whether it is an emergency, a municipal issue, or community support, he has often been just one phone call away.

We encourage every eligible resident 18 years and older to register, verify your voting details, or update your address if necessary.

Voting stations will be open from 08:00 to 17:00.

Don’t miss this opportunity to make your voice count. Your future is in your hands.

It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the untimely passing of two talented young South African sportsmen, Luqobo "Bibo" Makwedini (20) and Jayden Adams (25).

Both were exceptional athletes whose passion, dedication and commitment inspired countless young people across our country. Their lives, though far too short, left a lasting impact on their teammates, supporters and the South African sporting community.

On behalf of Sê Jou Sê NPC, we extend our heartfelt condolences to their families, friends, teammates and everyone whose lives they touched. May you find comfort, strength and peace during this incredibly difficult time.
May their memories continue to inspire future generations, and may their legacies live on forever.

It is with profound sadness that Se Jou Se Die Strand mourns the passing of Creashy Maart.

Creashy's journey was one of extraordinary courage, unwavering faith and remarkable resilience. Despite enduring immense pain and countless challenges, she continued to inspire thousands with her strength, hope and beautiful spirit.

Her story reminded us to cherish every moment, to never lose hope, and to face life's greatest battles with dignity and grace. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy of courage will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings, fill her Qabr with Noor and Rahmah, grant her Maghfirah, elevate her to the highest ranks of Jannatul Firdaus, and grant her family Sabrun Jameel.

Rest peacefully, dear Creashy. Your fight is over, your pain has ended, and your courage will never be forgotten.

The 2026 Local Government Elections are fast approaching, and every eligible voter has the opportunity to help shape the future of our communities.

Registration Weekend takes place on 20–21 June 2026, giving residents the chance to register, update their details, and confirm their voting station before Election Day on 04 November 2026.

As community leader, I encourage all residents of Ward 100, Ward 85, and surrounding areas to take part in the democratic process. Voting is not only a right, but also a responsibility that allows your voice to be heard on the issues that matter most to your family and community.

Do not wait until the last minute. Visit your nearest voting station during the registration weekend and ensure that you are ready to vote on Election Day.

🇿🇦 YOUTH DAY – 16 JUNE

Today, as South Africans, we commemorate Youth Day. It is more than just a public holiday or a day off from work and school. It is a day to remember the brave young people of 1976 who stood up against injustice and fought for the right to quality education and a better future.

Their courage came at a great cost, and many paid with their lives so that future generations could enjoy the freedoms we have today.

As Se Jou Se NPC, we honour the youth of yesterday and celebrate the youth of today. We also recognise that many young people still face challenges such as unemployment, poverty, substance abuse, crime, and limited opportunities. These realities remind us that the struggle for a better future is not over.

Youth Day should inspire us to invest in our young people, support their dreams, create opportunities, and empower them to become leaders who will shape our communities and our country.

Let us not only enjoy this day as a holiday, but let us reflect on its history, appreciate the sacrifices that were made, and commit ourselves to building a South Africa where every young person has the opportunity to succeed.
