Reboot is proud to introduce Cheryl Tessendorf. Cheryl is 65 years of age and was born in East London, South Africa. Married for 45 years, Cheryl's husband died of cancer in 2015, where after her life became extremely challenging as a result of Hilton's sudden passing. In August 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown, Cheryl had a massive Cerebrovascular accident (stroke), which left her completely paralyzed (Hemiparesis) on the left side of her body, leaving her without the function of her left arm and left leg. Without the financial means, Cheryl had no choice but to be admitted to a public hospital in Uitenhage. Cheryl's daughter, Desray, who lives in Cape Town was extremely concerned about her mother being admitted to a public hospital, where the medical care and attention is not always up to standard. Desray immediately started calling caregiving and convalescence facilities in Cape Town but nowhere could she find an establishment that could assist her mother with her recovery process. Luckily Desray found the Villa Blanca Multi Purpose Resort in Strand and immediately enrolled her mother in Villa Blanca's unique Life Reboot Program. When Cheryl arrived at Villa Blanca in early Sept 2020 the management and staff was shocked to see in what poor physical condition Cheryl was. She was literally in a comatose state and extremely neglected during her month stay at the public hospital. It was found that Cheryl, who arrived at Villa Blanca with a large plastic bag full of medicine, were prescribed more than 12 medicines - most which had absolutely no use or relation to Cheryl's underlaying condition. The Doctor's report also stated that she would have been paralyzed permanently on the left side of her body. Amongst other, Cheryl had 7 types of medication for the treatment of high blood pressure. Villa Blanca immediately enlisted Cheryl on the new world-class Falcon Medicare system, did her vitals and found that her blood pressure was so low that Villa Blanca's in-house Doctor, Dr Leon van der Spuy, was called in urgently to re-assess Cheryl's condition and medication. Dr van der Spuy reduced the prescribed medication from 17 items down to 5, with 2 being for asthma, one a sleeping tablet and 2 related to blood thinning and blood pressure, to be administered as and when needed. Within 2 days Cheryl's amazing transformation started and her Reboot Program is well on its way to assist Cheryl with a full recovery, where she'll be able to walk again.
