Giya Afrika is a fresh young choir with a heart for ministry not just singing Gospel music. Mr. Oupa. J Sithela founded the Gospel project, Giya Afrika in 2008, which consists of 22 Choir members accompanied by a 6-piece band comprised of the finest young and raw talent Ekurhuleni has to offer, who are between the ages of 17yrs and 30yrs, which keeps the group young, fresh and vibrant. However, Giya Afrika’s music and message is targeted at the old and the young music lovers, which strikes to keep the balance between the contemporary and the traditional gospel music. The purpose of the group is to minister through song and empower young undiscovered talent and nurture them into professional singers and band members. Dumisani ma Afrika is the group’s second album released under Smile Music, produced by the talented vocalist and music director, Mr. O.J Sithela, which has improved in terms of voices and production compared to their first album “Igugu”. Dumisani ma Afrika consists of praise, worship and sing-along songs which will heal and uplift your spirit. Dumisani Ma Afrika will journey with you through life with tracks like “The Prayer” assuring you that Jesus cares, and to uplifting your spirit you can listen to”Ketshepile wena” and “Izwi” and when in doubt or down you can listen to “Hlalanami” and “Khomelela”, and lastly they have added a bonus track “Igugu”’ to remind the listener where it all started from, the group truly does minister through their album. Giya Afrika hails from Ekurhuleni; therefore it is only fitting for the group to start their ministering and promotional tour at home, the group will tour different parts of South Africa
