The future of South African engineering lies in stronger collaboration between academia and industry.
We were proud to host a group of PhD and Postdoctoral Engineering Researchers from the University of Pretoria , led by Professor Michael Daramola, for a meaningful exchange of ideas, insights, and opportunities. The visit highlighted the importance of connecting research with real-world industry challenges to drive innovation and sustainable development.
As part of the engagement, Proconics Group CHRO and Corporate Affairs Executive, Dorah Tlala-Tanor, reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to supporting and sponsoring students throughout their research journeys, while Group CFO, Bongani Ngcongo, emphasized the importance of investing in postgraduate research as an investment in South Africa's future.
The delegation was welcomed by ProGO MD, Hans Suurd, and Proconics MD, Reginald Mbatha, who reinforced the value of continuous collaboration between academia and industry and their commitment to contributing to engineering education through curriculum development and academic engagement.
