Cash-in-Transit Heist – R104 Kroondal Bound At approximately 09:01 this morning, 26th July 2025, Rustenburg First Responders received a report of an active cash-in-transit heist on the R104 in the Kroondal-bound direction. Initial reports indicated that one security guard had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, with several other guards also injured during the attack. Rustenburg First Responders, SAPS, CPF members, Traffic Officials, ER24 EMS, Trauma Rescue EMS, Bojanala EMS, JustMed24 EMS, Netcare 911 EMS, and the Fire Department all responded swiftly to the scene. Once the area was secured by law enforcement, emergency medical personnel moved in to assess and treat the injured. One patient sustained a gunshot wound (GSW) to the right leg and was treated and stabilised on scene with the assistance of an ALS paramedic. A total of three patients were treated, stabilised, and transported to hospital for further medical care.
