FINAL REMINDER: BUANG MOLOTO CHORAL SHOWCASE 2026

The Buang Moloto Foundation wishes to remind all interested choirs that the closing date for expression of interest to participate in the 2026 Buang Moloto Choral Showcase is:

FRIDAY, 19 JUNE 2026

The Buang Moloto Choral Showcase will take place on:

SATURDAY, 31 OCTOBER 2026
RUSTENBURG CIVIC CENTRE

The Showcase forms part of Rustenburg Arts Festival Week — RAF Week 2026, running from 26 October to 01 November 2026.

Interested choirs are invited to express interest in either of the following streams:

1. STANDARD CHOIR SHOWCASE
2. LARGE CHOIR SHOWCASE

Choirs that have not previously participated in Buang Moloto Choral events are required to submit video recordings for consideration.

Today we remember the courage of the youth of 1976 — young people who stood with conviction, raised their voices, and reminded a nation that the future must never be silenced.

Youth Day calls us not only to remember history, but to awaken possibility. It calls every young person to discover their gift, sharpen their voice, honour their heritage, and step forward with purpose.

Through the Rustenburg Arts Festival, we celebrate the creativity, courage and light of our youth in music, dance, poetry, fashion, craft, brass, theatre and every expression that gives life to community.

Serala ke sa gago — let your light shine.

You stood up for Afrikaans.
You stood against injustices.
Right here in Ledig, your community carried that same fight.

And you can change the narrative again.

For too long, the arts were dismissed as just a hobby.
They took our art. They silenced our stories from Ledig to Rustenburg
But this is not a hobby. It’s a calling.

As we commemorate June 16, we put youth first.
