🎭 And the Answer Is… Grand Jeté! 🎭

✨ Grand Jeté ✨

The term Grand Jeté comes from French:
🔹 Grand = “big” or “great”
🔹 Jeté = “thrown”

Together, Grand Jeté means “big thrown leap.”

This spectacular movement creates the illusion of a dancer soaring through the air, with both legs extended in opposite directions. It requires strength, flexibility, power, and grace, making it one of the most iconic and breathtaking leaps in dance.

🩰 Where is it used?
The Grand Jeté is most commonly seen in Ballet, but it is also frequently used in Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Acro, and Musical Theatre choreography to create moments of elevation, freedom, and dramatic expression.
