🔥🎙️ WRITERSBENCH | URBAN STREET HERITAGE SPECIAL 🎙️🔥

What a conversation! What a moment! 🔥🇿🇦

We had an incredible talk with Legendary OG from Grabdamicfest and Slindile Sithela from Mshoza Nation — and when they stepped into the studio, they didn’t just bring conversation… THEY SHUT IT DOWN! 🎤🔥

This was bigger than music. Bigger than dance. Bigger than entertainment.

It was a powerful conversation about RESPECT. DISCIPLINE. ORDER. RESPONSIBILITY. CULTURE. HERITAGE. ✊🏾

From the streets to the studio, we unpacked the values that have kept Hip Hop and Pantsula alive — and the responsibility we carry to preserve, teach and pass our culture on to the next generation.

🎤 Legendary OG brought the history, wisdom and lessons from the Hip Hop movement and the work behind Grabdamicfest and its upcoming workshops.

💃🏾 Slindile Sithela represented Mshoza Nation, speaking on Pantsula, cultural identity and the importance of creating spaces where young people can learn, move and grow.

And the message was clear:

Culture without discipline loses direction.
Talent without responsibility loses purpose.
And heritage without respect gets forgotten.

🔥 This is why we do WritersBench.

We don't just talk about the culture — WE TALK TO THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IT, BUILD IT AND CARRY IT FORWARD.

Big respect to Legendary OG and Slindile Sithela for bringing nothing but substance, wisdom and real street heritage to the Bench. 🙏🏾🔥

🔥🎙️ WRITERSBENCH | THE URBAN STREET HERITAGE SPECIAL 🎙️🔥

This Thursday, 17 September 2026, WritersBench takes over the airwaves for TWO HOURS of culture, conversation, music, heritage and pure urban energy!

🕔 17:00 – 19:00
📻 LIVE on SAUMA HD Radio
🎙️ Presented by JABBY JABZ & HYPHENTIS CA

This week, we put the spotlight on URBAN STREET HERITAGE — exploring how Hip Hop and Pantsula have become powerful forms of cultural expression, identity, community and storytelling.

🔥 OUR GUESTS

🎤 LEGENDARY OG — GRABDAMICFEST

A Legendary OG from Grabdamicfest joins WritersBench to take us inside the upcoming Grabdamicfest, as well as the Hip Hop workshops scheduled for the coming months.

We'll unpack the importance of Hip Hop as an Urban Street Heritage — its history, its cultural value, its educational power and its role in shaping generations of South African youth.

💃🏾 SLINDILE SITHELA — MSHOZA NATION

Representing Mshoza Nation, Slindile Sithela joins us to explore Pantsula as an Urban Street Heritage.

We'll talk about the Pantsula movement, the work being done through Pantsula dance classes in Orange Farm, and the story behind Mshoza Nation — its culture, movement and contribution to keeping Pantsula alive and relevant for today's generation.

🔥 AND THAT'S NOT ALL!

WritersBench brings you the segments that make the show a weekly appointment:

📀 CRATE RAID
Digging through the crates and uncovering the music, sounds, stories and gems that shaped our culture.

🔥 FLAME & FAME
Where we put the spotlight on the names, movements and moments making serious noise in the culture.

🌍 COOLEST IN THE CITY — TOURISM
Discovering the coolest destinations, experiences and hidden gems across our cities and South Africa.

😂 LAUGHING STOCK
Our weekly dose of comedy, satire and the lighter side of the culture — because the WritersBench conversation doesn't always have to be serious!

🎙️ WRITERSBENCH is where music meets culture, culture meets conversation and the streets get a voice.

From Hip Hop to Pantsula, tourism to lifestyle, heritage to contemporary culture, we're creating a space where the stories behind the culture get heard.

🇿🇦 THIS THURSDAY, WE TALK HERITAGE.
WE TALK CULTURE.
WE TALK THE STREET.
WE TALK US.

Last week on Writersbench, we had a really good conversation with Zulenda Muzic 🎙️🔥

We spoke about her journey in music, some of the songs and collaborations that have shaped her catalogue, the stories behind her music, and what it’s really like navigating the South African music scene.

Of course, we couldn't let her leave without putting her through the EISH! Moment 😂🔥 and the Hot Box 🌶️ — some of those answers definitely had us talking!

Big shoutout to Zulenda for pulling up and giving us an honest, relaxed conversation. 🙌🏾

If you missed the show, you definitely need to catch this one. 🎧
