After years without stable employment, Funiwe Mzimba’s journey changed through a YES opportunity supported by a sponsor company and hosted within a Signa department.

Despite holding diplomas in International Tourism and Commerce in Marketing Management, Funiwe faced the challenge many young South Africans know too well: qualifications without access to opportunity. Through the Signa Opportunity YES Programme, she was able to gain practical workplace experience, build new skills, and prove her capabilities in a professional environment.

Her dedication and strong work ethic opened new doors, leading her to grow within the organisation and now serve as a Key Accounts Manager at Signa Academy.

Her story is a reminder that transformation does not happen through one effort alone. It happens when sponsors, businesses, and individuals work together to open doors to meaningful careers.
