We kicked off our week on an incredibly high note and today, we once again spent our Monday cleaning up the entirety of Tylden Street. Starting from the bottom, the entire street was a mess as just like everywhere else, there wasn't a single dustbin in sight. Regardless, it was so bad that we almost ran completely out of the refuse bags we'd brought with us. But thankfully, Gaylard's Agencies saved the day and assisted us with way more than enough bags to help us us completely finish cleaning the street as well a few other others along it. As much as Tylden street is a constant concern, we're we're absolutely not prepared to give up on it yet. And as part of our CBD with some of the highest traffic, we will continue to fight until we ultimately reach our goal of a

We had an incredibly productive Thursday and today, we spent the day cleaning up the Berry Dam. Having been quite a while since we last visited, we weren't too surprised to arrive to a number of overflowing dustbins as well as litter filled seating areas and a whole array of different refuse scattered all over. What shocked us though, was seeing how drastically low the water levels were in the dam almost turning today into a beach clean up instead. On the bright side, it gave us an opportunity to pick up some of the litter we couldn't reach before as some of it had been floating further in the dam. Regardless, we worked tirelessly emptying all the bins and picking up as much litter as we could for the day, however this was when the real challenge began. We then had the gruesome of carrying all the bags we'd collected all the way out the gate as we felt it pointless to just leave them at the dam before finally calling it a day. With Spring just around the corner, we know how much our town's residents will enjoy their weekends unwinding in places like the Berry Dam. Which is why we're trying our best to keep them neat and tidy in a

We've been extremely busy over the past 2 day and starting yesterday, we decided to settle a score with one of the many illegal dumpsites all along Chalmers Street. Feeling defeated defeated by our first visit a few months ago we came back much more prepared and way more determined to make a positive difference in what is by far the filthiest street in our entire CBD. We worked all day filling up countless refuse bags and were forced to call it an evening as we could no longer see due to the lack of streetlights in the area. We then got up this morning and made our way back to the dumpsite next to Hexagon High School only to find that all the refuse bags we'd filled hadn't been collected, so we reached out to Mr Sean Russell for assistance and thankfully he was more than happy to help and we were able to transport all the bags to the landfill before the vagrants stood another chance to rip through them. We still have quite a lot to cover with our clean up of Chalmers Street. But for now we can be very grateful for our first victory, as it has proven that it can be done and we will achieve our goal of a

After a much deserved long weekend. We had a great start of the week and yesterday, we spent our not so warm Tuesday tackling none other than Tylden Street. With the weekend's harsh weather conditions, we didn't only face burnt litter, but we had to face some muddy food waste which a couple of stray dogs seemed quite fond of, as they kept ripping through every bag we tried to fill up. We were eventually able to make the much needed difference. However, our day was far from over, as we then had to transport all the collected litter bags to the main road, in fear that the refuse truck wouldn't collect them and they'd just get ripped through again. We finished just before the freezing drizzle began and despite the non favorable conditions we ensured that we were able to push forward toward achieving our goal of a

We celebrated a spectacular Saturday and today, we joined forces with our great friends from Izibele Zoluntu Foundation along with with the generous support of Herotel , we were blessed to clean up an area in eZibeleni that we had never had the opportunity to clean before. We were particular delighted with today's progressions as the community came out in numbers to assist us in creating a much needed difference in their community. In the wise words of Tata Mandela, we gave it our all to become the change we'd like to see and took massive steps towards achieving our goal of a

We had another flying start of the week as we kicked off our not the warmest Monday by once again cleaning up none other than the corner of Tylden and Woodifield Street. Having been a while since we last cleaned the vicinity, we were met by heaps of burnt litter and facing the inevitable, it had eventually misinformed into yet another kitten sized rat infested breeding site, smack bam in the middle of town. Regardless, we gave our utmost to restore the highly visible corner to it's supposed state. As much as we wish we could enforce our local Municipality's supposed bylaws against the known perpetrators, there's really nothing we can do besides giving our all and striving towards achieving our goal of a
