Promoting and Protecting the Human Rights of Women and LGBTI+ People in their Diversity.
A world where women and Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) people in their diversity have equal access to services and human rights. Access Chapter 2’s (AC2) vision and mission is built from the women’s and LGBTI centred approach, and seeks to ensure civil society sector’s substantive participation in civil, political and socio-economic rights as enshrined in the bill of rights.

In Exodus 2, we are reminded that even in moments of oppression, history is quietly being shaped toward liberation. Before deliverance becomes visible, courage, compassion and justice are already at work.
Today, we welcome the Equality Court’s landmark judgment as more than a legal victory. It is a powerful affirmation that dignity is not negotiable, equality is not optional, and hatred has no place in a constitutional democracy.
This is the future we advocate for: one where the law stands firmly with those who have been marginalised, where accountability replaces impunity, and where every LGBTQIA+ person can live openly, safely and with dignity.🏳️🌈
Justice is not only measured by the judgments our courts deliver, but by the society those judgments help us build. May this decision strengthen our collective commitment to equality, deepen our resolve to confront discrimination, and move us ever closer to a South Africa where every person’s humanity is recognised, protected and celebrated.✊🏽
Today we celebrate. Tomorrow, we continue the work.
📄 The Court Order is attached.

Human rights prevailed today.
This judgment is more than a legal victory ✊🏽 it is a powerful affirmation that dignity, equality, and the rights of LGBTQIA+ people are protected under our Constitution.
We commend TRANSHOPE, the Hate Crimes Working Group, Lawyers for Human Rights, the South African Human Rights Commission, and every organisation that stood together in solidarity to make this outcome possible.
This is a reminder that hate has consequences, accountability matters, and justice is possible when we stand united.
Together, we continue the work of building a South Africa where everyone can live free from discrimination, violence, and hate.

For too long, LGBTQIA+ people have had to navigate discrimination, violence, legal challenges, and barriers to support with limited access to information and services.
That is about to change.
Access Chapter 2 is launching South Africa’s first zero-rated q***r community app , a groundbreaking platform that allows LGBTQIA+ people to access legal support, know their rights, receive updates on their cases, and connect with assistance without spending a cent on data.
No barriers. No gatekeeping. Just access.
Because justice, safety, and dignity should never depend on whether you can afford data.
🌈 FREE. MAHALA. NO DATA REQUIRED.
This is more than an app — it’s a digital home for our community, built to ensure that support is always within reach.
Keep a lookout. Something powerful is coming, and we cannot wait to welcome you home.
