General information
If you would like to adopt from us, please email Anneri on [email protected] and ask for an application form or inbox our page.
Want to help?
1) Adopt! Part of our mission is to rehome rescue rats.
2) Foster. If the owner needs to hand over their rats urgently, we often need a foster home to care for the rats until they find a new home.
3) Donate money. 100% of donations go to the rescue. Our funds go towards vet fees, food, bedding, booking stands at expos, printing pamphlets etc.
4) Donate items. We are happy to accept donations of cages, food bowls, water bottles, toys, substrate, bedding, unopened food, non-prescription supplements (like ViralGuard or Protexin), and goods to auction. If we do not currently need these items, we will suggest selling them and donating the money to us.
5) Transport. We need to get rats from their old home to their foster parent to their new home, and often the people involved don't drive.
6) Educate. We have gone to schools, expos, festivals, and handed out pamphlets at other places. If you know of a place that wants to host us, we will try to make a plan to be there, if possible. Or do the talking yourself. Educate people on rat husbandry and why they make good pets. Direct newbie owners to the SA rat forums, and our FB page.
