JUNIOR GRAPHIC/CONTENT DESIGNER

We are looking for a young individual who is passionate about design & visual communication. We currently hold a contract with an esteemed international retail brand and require a dedicated staff member to assist/work with our senior design team. We operate from a private office space in Walmer, Port Elizabeth, with a small contingency of resident staff, and a few representatives in other city centres in South Africa. Please see below the responsibilities and prerequisites.

Responsibilities:
• Process content and conceptualize and execute designs to be utilized for digital panel displays and social media
• Adapt national design CI/branding and content to suit the regional market
• Assist senior design staff with content editing and element creation, and other administrative duties.
• Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
• Ad hoc video and/or slideshow production (experience in After Effects advantageous)
• In-house training for the above-mentioned can be provided

Experience and Qualifications Required:
• Grade 12 / Matric
• A certificate or diploma (or equivalent qualification) in graphic design / multimedia, would be advantageous.
• Proven experience as a graphic designer or desktop publisher
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects or other visual design and wire-framing tools such as Corel Draw

We are looking for you if:
• You are passionate about graphic design and visual communications, writing and copy editing
• You have previous design experience (ESSENTIAL)
• You have a working knowledge of Adobe Suite or Corel Draw (ESSENTIAL)
• You have superior organisational skills and a proven ability to keep projects moving forward and meeting deadlines.
• You have strong attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (standard 3-month probation period)
Salary: R6 000 – R10 000, Negotiable
