It's Roger's birthday today! Let's help him get to his next one!

Happy Birthday to our warrior, may you be blessed with many more special birthdays. Only the best are born on Spring Day π₯°
The 5th tough week is almost over π and then one week to go of the ghastly chemoradiation. I know you are counting down the days for this radiation to be over my precious and you're looking forward to having a break before the 6 months of chemo starts. Only onwards and upwards from here. You are so loved π»π
Beautiful message from Roger's granddaughter:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!! Thank you for always being there for me and being like a father figure to me when I needed it the most! I love you millions and billions. You have been sooo strong with what has been going on with you and Iβm proud of you for fighting and pushing through. Even though this year hasnβt been the best for you you still continue to smile! Hereβs to many more happy birthdays! I love you papa β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks in the Oakley household as Roger is mid way through his 4th week of chemoradiation - it's like a daily military operation starting at 7am and ending at 9pm - wake up to tabs & tea, wait 30 mins, chemo tabs, wait an hour, breakfast and tabs, radiation, lunch and tabs, teatime and tabs, dinner and tabs and the last tab before he falls into bed) πππ
Weeks 4, 5 and 6 are the toughest and are really taking a toll on Roger with the extreme fatigue, every little task is a massive effort π₯±
He started bright and early this morning with a physio to assist him with his weak right side. So besides the morning math exercises, card games and puzzles to get his brain exercised, he now has to do physical exercises as well! π Whilst this is all very exhausting for him, it is necessary for his long term recovery and well being.
The support, messages and love that he has received is incredible.
Rog is overwhelmed with the love and support that he has received.
He had a visit to his favourite chiro today who helped him with his weaker right side and gave him some good tips for strengthening exercises. The daily radiation sessions he handles like the Ironman he is, even though he suffers from fatigue afterwards, he knows that the rest is very good for his recovery. He's a fighter and is still 'trying' to boss everyone around π

Dad had some energy this afternoon so we took the pups out for a short walk on the farm. Dad loved the sunshine and the fresh air βοΈπβ₯οΈ
