In the world of Africa entrepreneurs, where continuous exploration how to navigate the increasingly complex business environment for survival or growth if there is any is becoming more difficult. Enough respect and thumbs up to every startup and SME/SMMEs that are soldering on in the midst of challenges emanating from inaccessible funding, inadequate infrastructure and poor regulatory and policy challenges further amplified by global market and economic instability among other factors.
Many African governments have publicly acknowledged that they cannot solve the unemployment crisis alone. This has led to a growing number of policy frameworks and initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration. The private sector, including both large corporations and startups, is increasingly seen as a vital partner, not just a taxpayer.
The alignment between African governments and the private sector/startup community is improving but remains fragile. What is it that can be done to infuse more trust foster culture of public and private partnerships to an extended social contracts becomes binding community stakeholders to address challenges of unemployment and poor economic growth in Africa?
