HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SWD U15 IQHAWE WEEK CHAMPIONS! 🏆

What an incredible achievement by the SWD U15 Eagles, who have been crowned 2026 Iqhawe Week Champions!

The team was absolutely outstanding throughout their quest for glory.
🔥 Day 1: They took care of the Griquas.
🔥 Tuesday: They produced the biggest upset of the tournament, defeating the defending champions, WP!
🔥 Today: They completed the job in dramatic fashion, edging Border 10–7 in a nail-biting final!

A massive congratulations to the entire team and coaching staff. You guys deserve this victory!

A very special mention to today's Man of the Match, Wittedrift High School local and SWD lock and vice-captain, Mitchell Theron. Mitchell, together with prop, AJ Jansen from Plett Sec were the only Plett representatives in this year's squad, making this achievement even more special for the local rugby community.

What a proud moment for Plett and the entire Bitou area!

HOT STEPPERS ACADEMY VICTORIOUS IN KNYSNA!

The Hot Steppers Academy picked up right where they left off, producing another impressive performance as they travelled to Knysna and came away with a hard-fought 28–21 victory over the in-form Knysna Barbarians!

Assistant Coach Heini described it as a very tight encounter that could have gone either way until the final whistle:
“The Barbarians are a very good team with lots of pace at the back. We did very well defensively to keep them at bay. Our debutant, Angus, had a very good game and, together with Tinashe and Skylar, they anchored things to ensure the win.”

A massive well done to every player who put in the hard yards today. The boys showed composure, determination and, most importantly, played for each other.

It's Game Day for our Under-15s! 🏉

Our Hot Steppers U15 team is ready to take on the Dolphins U15 today in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

Today's match will give Coach Siya valuable insight as he continues preparing the squad for the BDD Foundation Tournament later this year.

"We're thankful for the opportunity to get the boys together for some valuable game time while testing different combinations. We're taking the BDD Foundation Tournament very seriously this year because the talent pool in our region is simply too good to ignore. Thank you to everyone who continues to support this initiative—we look forward to seeing you in Kranshoek today," said Coach Siya.

Coach Siya will be assisted by the enthusiastic young coach, Heini Pienaar, who is excited for his first outing with the team.

"This will be my first time working with Coach Siya, and I'm grateful for the opportunity. There is so much young talent in our region, and it's a privilege to be part of this journey. Boys, go out there, give it your all, and most importantly, enjoy the game!"
