MAINTAINING YOUR SANITY DURING RENOVATIONS #2
# Tip 1: Set A Realistic Budget
Setting a realistic budget is essential when extending your house. Every construction project has variable costs, which reveal themselves as the project progresses.
Before starting your project, conduct thorough research to determine the average cost of house extensions in your area and for your specific type of renovation. Obtain multiple quotes from reliable contractors, ideally at least three, and diligently compare them.
Additionally, it's wise to allocate some contingency funds to account for unexpected expenses or any necessary changes that may arise during the project. As the project progresses and there is more certainty regarding costs, the contingency amount can be reduced.
By being cost-conscious in the early stages, savings can be used to put the cherry on top in terms of finishes (For example, higher spec appliances and furniture).
By setting a realistic budget, you'll be able to plan your house extension more effectively, minimizing stress and frustration along the way.
