On the 10th of May, my heart was deeply touched when I received an invitation from Miss Grand Newcastle Lupus Awareness Campaign to be part of a meaningful Lupus Awareness initiative held at Amajuba Mall. 💜

Standing alongside people with hearts full of compassion, while handing over crochet gifts made with love, reminded me that true beauty is found in kindness, empathy and the ability to uplift others during their silent battles. Lupus is not always visible to the world, yet so many warriors fight through pain with courage every single day.

This experience was more than just an event for me — it was a powerful reminder that one act of love, one comforting smile and one moment of support can bring light into someone’s darkest season. Thank you sincerely for the invitation and for allowing me to be part of a cause that speaks healing, awareness and hope into the lives of many.

May we continue to use our voices, our hearts and our platforms to spread awareness, inspire change and remind every lupus warrior that they are seen, valued and never alone.

Today we stood together not just to speak about mental health, but to remind every person that their feelings matter, their struggles are valid, and their life has purpose. 🌿💚

Mental health is not weakness. Behind many smiles are silent battles, hidden tears, anxiety, depression, pressure, and pain people are afraid to speak about. That is why days like this are important — to create safe spaces where people feel seen, heard, loved, and supported.

Let us choose kindness over judgement, listening over ignoring, and support over silence. A simple conversation, a warm hug, or checking up on someone can save a life. Healing begins when people know they are not alone.

Today we raise awareness, spread hope, and encourage everyone to take care of not only their bodies, but also their minds and hearts. Speak up. Reach out. Rest when needed. And remember: it is okay not to be okay.
