Just met the coolest rock dweller you'll ever see! This little guy is a Rock Hyrax or Dassie - Africa's very own sunbathing, cliff-climbing snacker. ☀️‍Interesting factoid: They're more closely related to elephants than rodents, can you believe it?

Rock Hyraxes are super social and live in colonies with one dominant male keeping a watchful eye out. They might look chubby for sunbathing all day, but they're actually excellent climbers and can even jump impressive distances!

Mossel Bay Zipline - Sa Forest Adventures

Looking back at my landscape photography journey and realizing that gear isn't everything! Day 3 of 3.

These are some older photos from my adventures from 2012-2014 - the majestic Tugela Falls at sunrise with mist rolling through the Drakensberg, and seagulls soaring over the ocean in Mossel Bay. Even with older cameras, strong composition and basic techniques can really make a photo sing. ✨

**Level up your photography! ** Day 2 of 3 - Wildlife photography

Taking a trip down memory lane with some of my bird photography! These were some of my earlier attempts at capturing these feathered beauties, taken between 2011 and 2012.
Sure, having better equipment can definitely help you achieve stunning results with higher resolution and greater dynamic range, but even with a simpler camera, you can still take fantastic photos by focusing on good composition, using natural light to your advantage, and understanding the basics of exposure.

This photo of a scorpion under UV light was one of my first attempts at macro photography back in 2014. While lens technology, sensor resolution, my gear and technique have definitely improved over the years, I still find beauty in this set.

Your editing can totally transform your photography! Here's a quick look at 4 popular styles using a quickly edited photo of a seagull:

Light & Airy: Think bright, airy, and dreamy! This style uses light exposures, soft shadows, and often pastel colors for a gentle, optimistic feel. ✨ Perfect for portraits, weddings, and beachy scenes.

Dark & Moody: Deep shadows, rich contrasts, and cooler tones create a dramatic and atmospheric look. Great for landscapes, cityscapes, and capturing a sense of mystery or emotion.

Black and white: Some subjects or scenes are brought to life by pulling the focus away from colour and rather towards texture. This is brought about by contrasting tones of black and white in regular or irregular patterns.

Selective colour: This style is used in which one or 2 dominant, opposing or complimentary colors are the subject of the photo and serve to enhance - not detract from - the main photographic subject.
