NEWS: A man who came to the Richmond police station in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and pretended to be looking for help and later jumped and grabbed a gun from a female police officer has been shot dead.

After disarming the officer, he turned around and fired shots and injured three police officers within the station.

Other police officers who were in the police station intervened and shot him dead. The police station is currently closed, and the officers are receiving counseling.

JMPD and SAPS Hawks dismantled an illegal distillery in Hekpoort, West Rand District, seizing R570,000 in cash, machinery, and counterfeit alcohol with an estimated value of R20 million.

A 45-year-old male suspect was arrested.

A Brazilian national, Risclif Tadue Ramos (36), was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, after a large quantity of narcotics was found wrapped around his body.

Ramos, who was coming from Brazil, was apprehended by police following intelligence about a drug mule.

He will face charges related to drug trafficking.

▪️Police in Mpumalanga are following strong leads after the disappearance of 36 year-old Boniswa Mabuza from Kanyamazane.

▪️There's a suspect that has been nabbed at a house in Corner Gates Drive and Alaska Avenue Hillaria in Pienaar Mpumalanga.

▪️Belongings of Boniswa Mabuza which include a laptop, clothes, curtain, deep freezer and tyres were found in the house belonging to suspect.

▪️The suspect has pointed out to a shallow grave in Luphisa where Boniswa was allegedly buried, and a team of detectives are expected to dig that grave today.

▪️Boniswa was reported missing on Tuesday night, 25 June 2024, after her family tried several times to contact her over the phone but without any success. The family later discovered that she was not at her residential place hence they reported her missing at Kanyamazane Police Station on the said Tuesday.

Interestingly her vehicle, a white VW Polo was found abandoned in the bushes in Pienaar ( Nelspruit) the same night she was reported missing. However the car's wheels were all removed as well as a side mirror and a backseat.
