Cost raised to contain this virus for June to Nov is $319m, the needed figure is $517m.

The schools sanitation crisis continues

More than a decade after national outrage over deadly pit latrines, many Limpopo schools still lack safe and adequate sanitation. While most pit toilets have been demolished, learners are often left relying on overcrowded and poorly maintained chemical toilets as promised infrastructure projects stall.

Today 22 May, is a special one – It’s United Nations International .

This year’s theme ‘Acting Locally for Global Impact’ emphasizes that small actions taken by individuals, communities, schools, businesses and local governments, can collectively make a major difference globally.

The message is that global biodiversity goals cannot be achieved, only, through international agreements, they depend on local action everywhere.

There are many ways in which we can all play our part, by protecting local ecosystems, restoring damaged environments, reducing pollution, conserving water and wildlife, planting indigenous trees, supporting sustainable farming and fishing, and educating those around you about the importance of biodiversity.

It's important because it supports life on Earth, including human life, creating healthy ecosystems, food security, medicine & science, climate regulation, economic value as well as cultural and spiritual importance

Loss of biodiversity leads to: ecosystem collapse, food shortages, increased disease spread, weaker climate resilience and the extinction of species.

Today, W12+ Programs, our International Blueprint and Governance arm, Launches "Blue Dignity", a circularity community program, providing safe water, dignified sanitation, waste to value and the food nexus.
