TODAY IS DISCO SOUP DAY โ€“ 25 APRIL! โœจ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

Even though itโ€™s a rainy Saturday, we are going ahead with our mission to distribute toys to children and put smiles on their faces ๐Ÿ’›

Your presence matters โ€” your hands, your time, and whatever you can bring is truly welcome.

๐Ÿฒ What is Disco Soup Day?
Itโ€™s about coming together to share what we already have โ€” scraping together food items you may not need or use from your fridge or pantry, and giving them to those who need them most.

๐ŸŽ Today we are also collecting and distributing:
Toys
Food items
Toiletries
Letโ€™s not allow the weather to stop kindness. Every small contribution can make a big difference in someoneโ€™s life today.

STRIDES FOR AFRICA โ€“ EARTH DAY CLEAN-UP | 22 APRIL 2026

This Earth Day, donโ€™t just talk about change โ€” walk it, live it, and lead it.

Earth Day 2026, taking place on Wednesday, 22 April, marks the 56th anniversary of a global movement that brings together over 1 billion people worldwide. Under the theme โ€œOur Power, Our Planet,โ€ the call is clear: take action, protect our environment, and build a sustainable future.

In that spirit, Strides for Africa, in partnership with CK Foundation and Nosh Food Rescue, invites you to be part of a powerful walk and clean-up initiative โ€” a movement for a cleaner, safer, and more responsible Africa.

๐Ÿ“ Meeting Point: Corner Dane & Allandale Road
โฐ Time: 09:00
๐Ÿ“… Date: Wednesday, 22 April 2026

We are not just cleaning โ€” we are taking a stand against pollution, neglect, and environmental abuse. Every step we take and every piece of waste we remove is a step toward restoring dignity in our communities.

Whether you are an individual, community group, or corporate โ€” your presence matters. Even one hour of your time can make a real difference.

We also welcome donations in kind, including:
Refuse bags
Gloves
Cleaning tools
Masks
If you cannot join us physically, we encourage you to take action wherever you are โ€” clean your street, your neighborhood, your space. Africa belongs to all of us, and so does the responsibility to protect it.

This is our power. This is our planet. This is our movement.

Letโ€™s rise, letโ€™s walk, letโ€™s clean โ€” together.
Strides for Africa: Moving with purpose. Acting with impact.

Strides for Africa is heading to Soweto!

After a long but successful event last night, which wrapped up in the early hours of this morning, the team took some time to rest and recover.

We will be departing from Midrand at 10:30, with an estimated arrival in Soweto between 22:00 and 23:00.

Today is even more special โ€” my father, who turns 75 on Tuesday the 22nd of April (Earth Day), has joined us on the journey towards Soweto.

We will be doing a 22km walk and a clean-up in Midrand on Earth Day.

Join us tomorrow, Sunday the 20th, as we clean and uplift our community at Dlanga Street, Diepkloof Zone 2.

Follow our journey on social media as we continue to fight for change across Africa:
Clean streets. No hunger. Protect others. Protect the environment.

Stride for Africa is heading to Soweto this Saturday, 18 April!

Join us for the walk โ€” whether itโ€™s a few kilometres or the full journey, your presence matters.

Then on Sunday, 19 April, we continue with action on the ground:
๐Ÿ“ Dlanga Street, Diepkloof Zone 2
We will be cleaning a soccer field that has sadly become a dumping site.

We are calling on local authorities to come through and support by collecting the waste โ€” letโ€™s work together to restore dignity to our community.

Itโ€™s not just work โ€” itโ€™s also about community spirit ๐ŸŽ‰
Weโ€™ll be engaging and entertaining residents with Mokgadi and Connie Brown on stage.

Come walk. Come clean. Come be part of the change.

๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‡ Today at Nosh Food Rescue & CK Foundation ๐Ÿ‡๐ŸŒฟ

Today our dedicated team rose to the call and headed out to Fairlands to rescue fresh grapes that would otherwise have gone to waste. Instead of being discarded, these beautiful, nutritious grapes will now be donated to families in need.

At CK Foundation (CKF) and Nosh Food Rescue, we believe that when food is rescued, dignity is restored and communities are strengthened.

โœจ Anything to rescue โ€” we will rise and come. Nothing good must go to waste.

A special salute to Mama Nosh for consistently organising these impactful activities and ensuring that surplus food finds its way to those who need it most. Your leadership keeps hope alive.

๐Ÿ’š When Others Matter, Life Makes Sense โ€” Saving Food, Serving People, Strengthening Communities.
