​From crucial discussions on courageous leadership and political landscape analysis to dedicated break-out sessions on integrity, innovation, and AI, we are ready for three impactful days of learning, connecting, and driving progress.

INSETA continues its international learning journey in Brazil as part of the GIBS programme, engaging with key players across the Brazilian insurance sector.

Today’s engagements explored microinsurance, financial inclusion, accessible protection solutions, insurance market development, regulation and financial resilience — providing valuable insight into how Brazil is expanding access to insurance and responding to evolving consumer needs.

Through global knowledge exchange, INSETA continues to explore ideas, practices and innovations that can inform skills development and help build a more inclusive, responsive and future-ready South African insurance sector.

On 28 September 2026, INSETA convened its second Research and Innovation Committee meeting, chaired by FPI CEO, Lelané Bezuidenhout, who welcomed Committee members and highlighted the importance of research in ensuring that skills development remains responsive to an evolving insurance sector.

The meeting brought together key research partners to share emerging insights that will help shape INSETA’s future skills planning and interventions.

Redflank presented emerging findings informing the 2027/28 Sector Skills Plan, including key drivers of change, hard-to-fill vacancies and priority occupations. UNISA provided an update on its micro credentials study, exploring more agile responses to 4IR-driven skills needs, while the University of Johannesburg shared progress on research into the Just Energy Transition and the skills required as the sector responds to a low-carbon economy.

These insights reinforce INSETA’s commitment to evidence-led skills planning that anticipates change, responds to industry needs and prepares people for the opportunities of tomorrow.

The future of insurance is changing. Through research, collaboration and innovation, INSETA is helping ensure that the skills to drive that future are ready.

The INSETA Women PDBA Executive Immersion continues in São Paulo, Brazil, as our delegates engage with leading institutions across the Brazilian insurance sector.

Today’s executive engagements provide an opportunity to gain first-hand insights from Bradesco Seguros on insurance leadership, operations at scale, customer solutions and distribution, followed by IRB(Re), where the focus shifts to reinsurance, risk transfer, underwriting, market resilience and emerging risks.

More than international exposure, this immersion is about learning, exchanging ideas and bringing global perspectives home, strengthening the leadership capabilities required to navigate change, drive innovation and contribute to a more resilient South African insurance sector.

From global insight to local impact.

The INSETA Women PDBA Executive Immersion has taken learning beyond the classroom and into the heart of the global insurance industry.

Beginning in Lima, Peru, the delegation engaged with leading organisations across the insurance ecosystem, exploring insurance access, policyholder protection, brokerage and distribution, enterprise risk, regulation, digital transformation, data and artificial intelligence.

Through engagements with APESEG and DEFASEG, Pacífico Seguros, Marsh Peru, APECOSE, SBS and Minsait, delegates have been exposed to different approaches to customer protection, market development, innovation and the changing skills required by the insurance industry.

The immersion forms part of INSETA's commitment to developing women leaders who are equipped to lead, innovate and contribute meaningfully to the future of South Africa's insurance sector.
