The Devil works hard, but these guides at The Devil’s Pool at the edge of Victoria Falls in Zambia work harder!!!! In case you’re wondering how people get those seemingly perfect and relaxed photos there, it’s all these guys!! First of all, you can only do Devil’s Pool during the low-water season (I’ve been during high season and had to do Angel’s Pool to avoid going over the edge), and it requires you to swim across the top of the falls in freezing water. One guide leads the group all together, then you have to go one by one across the current to get to the rock island you can see people sitting at. Then they have you go one by one to the edge, where one guy holds your ankles and another works his photo magic while STANDING AT THE EDGE of the waterfall! They both will tell you to go all the way farther to the edge until you can look down and see the bottom 😱🤪🫣 which i of course did thinking it was cool, and didn’t realize others in my group were very scared of that part, so FYI you can tell them you don’t want to go as far as I did 😂 I’ve honestly never been so impressed by such strategy in such a dangerous location! And also, no, we didn’t have any ropes attached to us, we were literally just there at the edge with these guys sometimes holding on to us! (They didn’t hold me when I was just sitting up 😱) Also yes I did a swimsuit change, since I got to go twice due to my group being split in half. I wish I got the guides IG’s but I was too cold to function, so if they see this, THANK YOU Omega!! Would you dare swim in the Devil’s Pool???
