The footsteps of 1976 still echo through our streets.
In every dream pursued, every voice raised, and every barrier challenged, their journey continues.
The march is not over.
We are the next chapter.

Courage ignited freedom's flame. Visionaries will shape tomorrow's horizon.
Fifty years after the uprising, we ask: What transformative legacy will our generation leave? The 1976 uprising broke the chains of oppression.
In 2026, we must forge paths to a brighter future.

Welgedaan aan Mr Christopher Soetwater en Come'N'Play Holiday Workshop!!
Big Congratulations 👏👏

OUR CHAMPION OF THE WEEK!! Christopher Soetwater

We would to congratuate Mr Christopher Soetwater’s for his Chilldrens Programme "Come and Play" which was awarded 2nd place, receiving a prize of R20,000 at the BASA Debut Programme. This achievement is not only a testament to the power and relevance of the work, but also a reflection of the commitment to creating meaningful theatre experiences for young children.

The funding will play a vital role in enabling the programme to expand further into underserved spaces, reaching more children and creating access and opportunities where they limited. It will support the development of new preschool, deepen community engagement, and strengthen the programme’s impact as a platform for creativity and growth.

As ASSITEJ South Africa, we are proud to be associated with this inspiring project through the SEF programme. This partnership speaks to our shared vision of nurturing young voices, supporting emerging artists, and ensuring that theatre for children and young people and creative expression remain accessible, inclusive, and transformative for all.

Welcome, and thank you for viewing our first episode of Living in Bokone.
In this episode, we had the opportunity to explore our province at its grassroots level — an experience that was both eye-opening and deeply inspiring.
It was truly beautiful to witness children happy, fully engaged, and actively participating.
These children are our future.
It is only fitting that they are heard, loved, and protected, as they are the future heroes and leaders who will carry forward all that they learn today.
