One of GreenLab.bi’s flagship projects is centred around hydroponics and aquaponics innovation. The GreenLab.bi - Food Computer Programme, is an innovative personnel controlled-environment device, that is useful to teach a wide range of topics as an educational tool, including STEM and Entrepreneurship. The project aims to teach primary and high school learners, as well as youth groups, about entrepreneurship, using hydroponics and aquaponics systems towards a sustainable and green future. Amongst others, the goal is to promote student engagement with STEM subjects while also inspiring them to become future problem solvers. Students gain computer science and programming, engineering, science lab, design, robotics and agriculture skills by building and coding these food computers. In doing so, the objective is that young people must learn how to apply technical skills to seemingly non-technical issues that arise in their own communities.
