The second stage of the Taxidermy process, the skins have been cured and excess flesh and fat has been removed. The skin has also been placed over a fiberglass mold and then stitched up. And now the animal is being given veins, eyes etc.

A well known Freight COmpany in Bulawayo had an unfortunate incident with a fire earlier this year that ravaged their warehouse containing over 400 clients valuable trophies!

What needs to be noted from these photographs are crates that did survive the fire. These were crates manufactured by Safariland Taxidermy utilising solid wood. We do not like utilising cardboard as most other companies in Zimbabwe do and the results speaks for itself.........

Once the trophies have arrived at Safariland they are tanned and cured and then placed under the capable hands of these three men, who then remove excess fat and skin and get the skin ready for mounting, this is the first step of the mounting process.
