My excitement of opening the kiln started with glee and then turned to despair .... swipe left.... the 2 extremes of being a potter! The good and the fails all in one kiln load.
Well I suppose I will have to make more cups 😃 😀 😄 😁 🤣

Lots of cups firing today...yay!
3am kiln start should finish 2 or 3pm. Then the long wait for cooling.... it always feels like an eternity because I am always beyond excited to see what beauties come out of this fabulous alchemy.
Because I can't help myself I always do some new not tested experiments on my pieces. That's what makes the opening and unpacking so exciting!
I have to wait to tomorrow to crack the lid a tiny bit ... have a cup of coffee and then a bit more... have another cup of coffee and more and more ....
These cups have been made for a little shoppie in the Karoo.

Buzzart 21 is running and we have ceramic cups made from recycled local clay. Let's care for our world and use a reusable cup on our jolling, road trips and picnics.

The ocean inspires me every day even though I am living away from it it is hard wired into my DNA. The perlemoen is under threat from poaching...why does mankind just keep ravenous consuming until there is nothing left but their garbage!!!!!

My perlemoen tea pots are in a ceramic exibition until the 5th of September.
These are made by me to highlight the plight of these beauties. Poaching is decimating them in our Cape coastal waters. Don't miss this wonderful exibition.

Ceramic artists from all over South Africa ... newbies to masters and everyone in between have created art to bring some light into your lives. I know that I have needed light and hope during these dark places I have been in the last year. So if you are in the Pretoria area go and view some light and hope and if you are elsewhere view and enjoy the lightness on

Raining outside so a sewing and matching cups and felt sleeve day today while I watched the pretty lilies in my garden. This is the view from our studio which is the prime spot in my lounge. Chairs pushed over to one side permanently to make space for a fabulous studio. Something I learned from both my parents... its never going to be perfect... don't wait ...if it's important to you make a plan with what you have and just go for it!!!!
So blessed and thankful for this space.
