A wonderful day at Inundo Development Farm as we welcomed two of our small group leaders, Sanele Duma and Xolani Dladla! 🌱

They visited us to collect seeds for their small groups, share some of the challenges they have been facing, and learn more about planting seeds, as they are more familiar with working with seedlings.

One of the highlights of our conversation was hearing how they have overcome a challenge that many of our leaders face. Monkeys are no longer a problem in their garden thanks to a creative scarecrow they built! 👏

We love seeing our leaders grow in confidence, find practical solutions, and continue learning new skills that they can share with their groups. Thank you, Sanele and Xolani, for your dedication and enthusiasm. Together, we keep learning, growing, and cultivating faithfulness. 🌿

It’s been exciting to follow our small groups this year and see encouraging growth despite challenges.

In March, each group received bean, spinach, and beetroot seeds to plant. For many, it was their first time growing crops from seed rather than seedlings. The journey wasn’t without difficulties when goats, monkeys, and chickens helped themselves to some crops before they could be harvested. The biggest disappointment, however, was the beetroot, which failed to grow as expected.

These setbacks left some leaders discouraged and unsure about continuing. But when we gathered again in May, hope returned. The meeting offered practical lessons, especially on crop rotation. As leaders shared experiences and saw the thriving demonstration garden, their confidence grew.

Now our leaders are applying those lessons by rotating crops in their own Gardens of Faithfulness. We’re excited to see their gardens flourish and look forward to the harvest from the seeds they’ve faithfully planted.

What an informative and impactful week it has been for Thando and Sdu at Durban Bible College! 🌱

Over five days, they took part in a Trauma Healing Training that equipped them with valuable tools, deeper understanding, and a heart to serve others more effectively.

A huge shoutout to Tanya and Megan for leading such an inspiring and empowering journey. Your investment in others will continue to bear fruit in many lives.

We are excited to take what we’ve learned and use it to support, encourage, and bring healing to those around us. The journey continues, and we can’t wait to help others along the way. 💚

After harvesting all our dry maize, the work doesn’t stop there. Instead of removing the stalks, Andile and Nosisi carefully bend them down to create a beautiful “God’s blanket” over the soil. This natural covering helps protect and nourish our garden as it rests and prepares for the next planting season.

We love seeing how every step on the farm serves a purpose. Today’s harvest becomes tomorrow’s healthy soil, reminding us that growth is a continuous journey. 🌽🌱

Watching our peas grow is a beautiful journey. 🌱

Peas are a productive cool season crop, and as they begin to climb, we add ropes between the stakes to give them the support they need. As they grow taller, we continue adding more ropes, gently guiding them upward and helping them reach their full potential.

There is something inspiring about watching this process unfold. The plants need care, patience, and the right support at the right time. When those things are in place, they flourish.

Our peas are teaching us an important lesson. Whether in the garden or in our own lives, we all flourish when we are supported, encouraged, and given space to grow. 💚

On May 21, we gathered with leaders at Inundo Development Farm for a meaningful day of learning, encouragement, and fellowship. 🌱✨

Our mentors, Sdu, Mbongeleni, Donna, and Mpendulo shared valuable teaching on management, with a particular focus on how we can be better stewards of the resources entrusted to us. They also taught on the importance of vegetable rotation in the Gardens of Faithfulness and how this practice contributes to healthier and more productive gardens.

What encouraged us most was the response from the leaders who attended. There was a genuine excitement in the room as people engaged with the material and discussed how they could apply what they were learning within their own small groups. Their passion for learning and their commitment to helping others grow were evident throughout the day.

It is a privilege to witness leaders who are eager to continue learning, sharing knowledge, and strengthening their communities. These gatherings remind us that lasting growth happens when people learn together, support one another, and faithfully put new ideas into practice.

We are grateful for every leader who joined us and for the opportunity to continue growing together, learning together, and building together.

The focus of Inundo’s 2026 training has been to deliver the Farming God’s Way material through a small group strategy. This approach is creating opportunities for leaders in the Durban area to continue growing while passing on what they are learning to a small group of peers.

As part of this journey, each group is planting two Gardens of Faithfulness. The first garden was planted in March and has already produced some encouraging harvests. We are now moving forward with the second garden while continuing to learn together in the small groups.

One of the highlights has been watching the Inundo team step into greater leadership. With the managers away, team members have taken responsibility for planning and leading the next in person gathering. From preparing the property and setting up the tent, to coordinating hospitality, teas, and the program itself, everyone played an important role.

Dan and Kerry would like to express their sincere thanks to this remarkable team. It has been encouraging to see people serve with initiative, work together so well, and continue growing in confidence and leadership.

Some of the trainers in training attended the Farming God‘s Way national infield mentoring in Limpopo in April.

Sduduzile, Mpendulo and Patricia made the long trip to Tzaneen and proudly represented Inundo Development. The excitement they came back with was beautiful to see. They could not stop sharing what they learned and speaking highly of the senior trainers for the wisdom and guidance shared during the training.

One thing about farming is that the learning never stops. Every season, every trip and every experience teaches us something new. As we grow our gardens, we also grow our minds, our skills and our passion for the work we do. Siyabonga for opportunities that continue to shape and strengthen us 🌿.

The last week of April brought us a beautiful reward as we harvested our dry maize here at the farm 🌽.

From the seeds we planted to the harvest we gathered, we reflected on how farming requires patience, care, and trust. We have kept fifteen corn cobs for planting next season so the journey can continue, and the rest will help feed our chickens and support life around the farm.

Our hearts are celebrating. Every harvest promises abundance and another opportunity to keep learning from the soil 💛.
