We need help again with Gina:
Recap for those who don't know her story. She is a 9 or 10 year old Pit Bull type, sterilised female who used to live on a farm with a farm worker. Unfortunately he passed away, and she kind of latched onto the neighbours. They already have two Boerboel pups, and there are strict rules of only two dogs per family on the farm. For the past three months we have been trying to find Gina a retirement home, and took our chances by leaving her on the farm. The family unfortunately could not wait longer and asked us to please just put her to sleep.
We went all out to try again, but not one single offer came up for Gina that would make her part of the family.
We did find a foster home just before the weekend, but to make a long story short, it is not working due to wild horses (yes Wild Horses!) that roam the area in Fisherhaven. Gina has made a few attempts to get to them, and they are protected in the area.
Yesterday we once again had to deal with insulting phone calls, but no suggestions.
Please note this adds nothing to the situation if you cannot offer an alternative. We were supposed to put her to sleep today, but we just couldn't. Gina hates being in a cage, but she is at the vet for one night, while we hope for a miracle.
Gina is NOT going into a kennel. Not for winter, not at her age, and not for a dog who roamed a farm and looked at the stars at night. She ADORES people and kids, and gets on with cats.
She tolerates puppies, but not so much adult dogs. In fact she is quite patient with puppies, even annoying ones, but her threshold is extremely low with adult dogs, male or female.
Please do NOT offer if you adult dogs/small adult dogs.
She has been pushed around enough, and we cannot set her up to fail. She has had no home to call her own for months now, she lost her owner who took her everywhere in his bakkie, she's been shifted from here to there, and if cannot find a loving home, she will have to join her owner in heaven.
If you have kids, cats, a puppy perhaps, and willing to make a retirement spot for miss Gina, please contact Helene urgently. 073 354 4915 (please only call if you have any options as outlaid above

Gina is a good 9 or 10, she loves a walk, she can even pick up a bit of speed. She is probably 35kilos, so a bit of a bulldozer, she's a stubborn old gal and likes to chill on the couch :) 02/05/2017
