A memorable day in Cape Town celebrating the 30th birthday of the Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA).

The day coincided with the birthday of Ron Holloway, who had the initiative to start Maxitec (originally operating as ITEC), 29 years ago.

Maxitec has been a proud ISPA member for 21 of those years.

Technicians have successfully completed the hardware installation on a temporary high-site. Most users in previously affected areas (Zwelihle, Sandbaai, Onrus, and Vermont) should now be able to connect.

Maxitec started repairs to the high-site servicing wireless clients in the Zwelihle, Sandbaai, Onrus, and Vermont areas. The tower and equipment sustained extensive damage. No current ETR.

Maxitec's main high-site serving users in the Zwelihle, Sandbaai, Onrus and Vermont areas sustained severe storm damage.

Restoration work will begin as soon as conditions are safe to do so.

Wireless service to residents in Hermanus Industria, CBD, Westcliff, Eastcliff, Northcliff, Voëlklip and parts of Sandbaai is not affected.

Requirements:

- Strong WordPress development experience (theme development and plugin maintenance)
- Experience with website maintenance and support
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP
- Knowledge of database systems (MySQL)
- Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Knowledge of WordPress page builders (Elementor, etc.)
- Understanding of SEO best practices
- Experience with website security and backup solutions
