Join the club ride on Saturday mornings - leaving Village Cycles area at 7am. 18-25km routes.

Our Saturday morning Club Rides groups are growing in popularity! Shout out to Garth for always being the one to initiate them! If you are a Trail Permit Holder and Club member - get on the WA group! If you are a weekender trying to just join a group - most Saturdays at 7am from Village Cycles Hermanus.

3 van ons Hermies Berg fiets ryers het ons verteenwoordig by die Cycle Lab Schools Cycling Nationals die 21 ste en 22 ste September te Wagpos Hoërskool in Brits. Jenna Pereirra het tydens die Nasionale Skole wedren vir dames 18 jaar 17de geindig in die meisies 15 jaar het Sune du Plessis 25ste en Klara Schoonraad 30ste klaargemaak. Tydens die provinsiale wedren die volgende dag het Jenna 14de geiendig in die land Sune 20ste en Klara 25ste.

Jenna Perreira had an incredible Mountain Bike season. She finishes the season with 650 points individually. The most of all riders in our School. She also ends the season Ranked as number two in the Western Province Schools Womens under 18 and represented our School and Western Province at The Cyclelab National Schools Championships. With this she also earns Overberg Cycling Colours to be given at an award by Overberg Cycling.
Klara Schoonraad finishes the year with 460 points total and as the 4th ranked rider in the Western Cape for Youth Girls 15. She also represented our school at the Cyclelab Schools National Champioships
Sune du Plessis finishes the year with 455 points total and as the 5th ranked rider in the Western Cape for Youth Girls 15. She also represented our school at the Cyclelab Schools National Championships.

Route around Camphill restored...
Please check all the info on the image.

🚵First bit still on the tar road to Camphill rd.
🚴BLUE route use tar road until the Parkrun parking area
🚵RED/BLACK enter the jeep track at the entrance of the K9-Unit
🚴RED is basically restored, including The Gorge
🚵BLACK not displayed on map is NOT OPEN - including the route around the dam and through Hasher Estate (Sumaridge) and trail past the horse farm (Nadeson) and beyond.
🚴If using Rotary Way to enter the network - only entrance towards the "Bypass to Mineshaft". Riders riding the climb known at Witklippies in reverse stand to be prosecuted by the landowners and farm security
🚵Please display your permit boards if you have them (2024 permits)

Bit of an update before the weekend. We've got a new crossing over the river, which means you can now make your way back into the forest from the Plaaskombuis/Hamilton Russel/Bypass to Mineshaft side. Sadly you still cannot make it past Camphill, so you'll still have to use the R320 tar road to get to the Plaaskombuis. We've been working on getting some new section for the holidays, but negotiations with some farmers are still ongoing. The Gorge is still inaccessible at this stage, but we should have that back by the end of next week. Once you see what we've had to do there, you'll understand why it has taken this long. Thank you for your patience and enjoy the new crossing....
