“Cliffhanger” in the making.

Outeniqua Strand is one of the hidden gems of the Southern Cape.

It is a place where indigenous vegetation meets the never ending beach and ocean in the most dramatic of ways.

Winding little paths takes you to the most spectacular beach for long strolls and sunbathing.

The aim here was to maximize the view, whilst barely touching the ground.

We are super excited about this new project at Monate Eco Resort, Heroldsbay.

Conceptual design_ the "cocoon effect" is very much a requirement of the "now"... you want to view, but at the same time a feeling of enclosure. I look forward to some texture on the facade, to connect floors/walls/ceilings into comforting "nests for living".

Screening elements are a good way to connect buildings to the ground, whilst providing structural detail, to an otherwise very minimalist facade.

West facing walls always tricky_ you want filtered light, but not the glare or heat in high summer. In this recently completed project at Oubaai Golf Estate, we integrated the screening element into the facade, creating a louvre wall, with small fenestration openings, where required.
