On this beautiful Spring day of the year 2022 after celebrating Woman's month, ACVV George recalls' a beautiful piece of history...

The ACVV was established 118 years ago, on 1 September 1904 in Cape Town by a group of women who wished to offer assistance to Women and children.

Today the ACVV, one of the largest welfare organisations in South Africa, has grown and transformed from emergency relief, primary health care and educational services to comprehensive social work and protection services for children and older persons.

Op hierdie pragtige Lentedag van die jaar 2022 na die viering van Vrouemaand, herroep ACVV George 'n pragtige stukkie geskiedenis...

Die ACVV is 118 jaar gelede, op 1 September 1904 in Kaapstad gestig deur 'n groep vroue wat hulp aan Vroue en kinders wou bied.

Vandag het die ACVV, een van die grootste welsynsorganisasies in Suid-Afrika, gegroei en getransformeer van noodleniging, primêre gesondheidsorg en opvoedkundige dienste, na omvattende maatskaplike werk en beskermingsdienste vir kinders en ouer persone.

By sharing three different incidents of gender-based violence she endured, Brooke May, who teaches English and life orientation at York High School, hopes to throw a life line to teens who struggle with similar situations and that they will find comfort in the fact that they are not alone.

... The office distributed delicious warm soup and freshly baked bread.

During the school holidays a Holiday Program were held in Hoogekraal for the children of the area.

The Children's Rights and responsibilities with the different types of abuse were presented by Ciska van Rooyen (Social Worker) and Curtley Africa (Social auxiliary Worker) for the community of Hoogekraal. #15072022

On 02 June 2022, ACVV George in collaboration with Pacaltsdorp Primary School held a silent march to raise awareness of Child Rights and also for Child Protection Week which will take place from Monday 30 May 2022. The school, which consists of 1531 learners, made posters with slogans on them that dealt with Children's Rights. The awareness march is organized to make the community aware of the Children's Rights.

Op 02 Junie 2022 het ACVV George in samewerking met Pacaltsdorp Laerskool ‘n stille optog gehou ter bewusmaking van KinderRegte en ook vir Kinderbeskermings Week wat vanaf Maandag 30 Mei 2022 plaas vind. Die skool wat bestaan uit 1531 leerders het plakkate gemaak met slagspreuke daarop wat gehandel het oor Kinderregte. Die bewusmakings optog is gereel om die gemeensakp bewus te maak van die KinderRegte.

This week we get to acknowledge their meaningful contribution to making our world a better place.
