Uh-oh, did a bit of butter escape the toast and land on your favourite tablecloth or shirt? Don't worry! Oily stains can look scary, but with this quick and easy guide, you can get your fabrics looking pristine again in no time.

🧼 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽-𝗯𝘆-𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲
𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝘁: If the butter is solid, use a blunt spoon or knife to gently scrape away the excess. Gently blot any liquid residue with a clean paper towel. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as this can push the grease deeper into the fibres!

𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆: Pour a small amount of liquid laundry detergent straight onto the spot. Work it in gently with your fingers or an old toothbrush. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to give it a head start on breaking down the oil.

𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗨𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁: Check the garment's care label and wash it using the highest water temperature allowed. Use your preferred liquid detergent for the main wash cycle.

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴: Always check if the stain is completely gone before putting the item in the tumble dryer or hanging it out. If you can still see a shadow of the grease, repeat the pre-treatment steps.

Fortunately, there is a simple trick to cut your ironing time in half:

💧 𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴" 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸
𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘁 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆: To get your cotton tops, sheets, and towels ironed in super-quick time, iron them while they are still slightly damp.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘇 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: If they have already dried completely, simply spritz them with water first.

Taking proper care of your printed shirts is the only way to keep those designs vibrant and completely crack-free!

Here is the quick checklist to save your streetwear:

🧼 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸

𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝘁: This is the absolute golden rule. It shields the print from rubbing against the machine drum or abrasive zips and buttons on other clothes.

𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗱: Always select a cold, gentle cycle. Hot water acts like an enemy to screen prints, breaking down the adhesive and causing them to fade or peel.

𝗗𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿: Stick to a mild detergent and skip the fabric softener, which can soften the ink itself and lead to premature cracking.

𝗔𝗶𝗿-𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆: High tumble dryer heat is the number one cause of warped, shrunken prints. Hang your tees on a drying rack out of direct sunlight.

🌟 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱

Never touch a hot iron directly to a graphic print! If you absolutely must iron out a wrinkle, iron the shirt inside out on low heat, or place a sheet of baking paper (parchment paper) over the outside of the print to act as a heat shield.

𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 🧺
Avoid washing lightweight graphic tees in the same load as heavy denim jeans or jackets. The rough texture of heavy fabrics creates extra friction that can quickly wear out a delicate screen print.
