Write to Rise

At SA Suburbs Publications, we believe in the power of words to shape futures. Write to Rise is more than just a literacy project
Write to Rise, an innovative initiative by SA Suburbs, is a transformative program designed to empower young writers in South African primary schools, with plans for future expansion to high schools. By curating, editing, and professionally publishing students’ creative works into quarterly anthologies, Write to Rise provides a platform for young voices to shine, fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for storytelling. The program collaborates with schools and English teachers to select outstanding student submissions, producing high-quality books sold to parents and schools. Initial printing costs are offset by sponsorships, ensuring no financial burden on schools, while book sales create a sustainable revenue stream. Write to Rise not only elevates literacy and self-esteem but also strengthens community engagement through shared pride in students’ achievements.

FOUR EVENTS. ONE POWERFUL WEEK. ONE GROWING MOVEMENT.
This week, SupportLocal was honoured to be invited to four incredible events across Durban!
* Women's Day Celebration
* Financial Future Summit

* GBWCCI Workforce Development Event
From connecting with inspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders to interviewing VIP guests and keynote speakers — including Durban Mayor Cyril Xaba — every event allowed us to share the SupportLocal vision.
And the response?
* More downloads.
* More connections.
* More businesses wanting to join.
What started as an idea is growing into something bigger — a platform where communities connect, local businesses get discovered, and opportunities are created.
