Fabulous Style Ideas For Weddings In 2012 & 2013
This article seeks to examine the key wedding colours for forthcoming weddings in 2012 and 2013. For many of us, weddings needs to planned so far in advance that it is advantageous to have a finger on the pulse in terms of wedding style.
Natural and organic themed weddings will remain a popular choice for brides. Table centrepieces will be heavy on greenery, foliage and wild flowers. We may even see potted shrubs used on table and as pedestal arrangements rather than flowers. Reception tables will be scatter with leaves, moss, twigs, stones and shells. In fact, place names will be seen painted on soft pebbles; napkins will be tied with raffia and finished with green ivy. Favours will be in the form of personalised tea bags, charitable donation favours and home made soaps.
If you were married this year, you will know that purple continues to be a big colour. Looking forward for weddings through 2012 and 2013 purple will be seen fused with orange. Purple will work well with softer orange tones as well as vibrant tangerine colours. Choose dark peach roses and team these with purple stock in bouquets and table decoration. Choose soft orange chiffon gowns for bridesmaids with purple satin sashes. For favours, give guests orange and purple foiled hearts presented in co-ordinating favour bags. Complete the look with your wedding stationery; give guests orange board invites finished with purple ribbons and presented in purple envelopes.
2012 weddings will also see the comeback of the blushing bride. Following on from the neutral tones of 2010, soft pinks, pale coffee and rich cream colour schemes will be big news. Think of sepia style photography and this is where this palette will transport us. Any colour along this spectrum will work well for this theme but just beware of using too much white in your accessories and outfits. Your gown will need to be in champagne, gold or rich cream and this is also true for table linen white will make your pink and coffee tones look dirty. White napkins can be carefully stained using tea and coffee to create an antique finish. Opt for cream personalised favour boxes printed in an antique gold foil; fill them with pink champagne truffles.
This next colour scheme sees the revival of the ultra feminine cherry red teamed with blue. Lay tables with bright blue organza runners and dot with real cherries and natural red rose petals. You could alternate cherry red napkins and blue napkins at place settings. Don't forget that these colours are both strong in flavour and effect; if you want to tone them down, incorporate plenty of white. Give guests blue favour boxes tied with cherry red ribbon; fill them with cherries dipped in dark chocolate! With regards to floral arrangements, red and blue dyed roses will look the best. Smaller bridesmaids could have posies that incorporate cherry stems for a really cute and very apt floral arrangement.
Hopefully this has given you a glimpse into the future and has helped you see which colours are going to be hot in wedding style for the next year or so.
