Horse Racing Stable in Summerveld, KwaZulu Natal Therese started working for her father, Russell Laird, as an assistant trainer in 1981.

She learnt her trade from the best and during the early years worked with some of the equine greats of the time, including Lindberg, Gun Drift, T**a Inca and the big chestnut filly, Novenna.
