🎸 A Trip Down Memory Lane! 🎤

Exactly one year ago today 26th of October 2024 (and yes, it was a Saturday!) PLAIN DOWN was set to take the stage at the Battle of the Bands Finals at Mad Hatter 031, Amanzimtoti. But fate had other plans…

Just hours before the show, lead guitarist and vocalist Renier Renz Kruger suffered a stroke, leaving him unable to use his right arm and unable to stand, play, or even sing. 💔

But the show didn’t stop there. 💪
Bandmates Christopher Nel and John Devine stepped up to the plate — Chris grabbed the guitar and took on lead vocals, while John held it down on drums and added backing vocals. The spirit of PLAIN DOWN lived on that night!

Fast forward one year — after months of therapy, hard work, and determination — RENZ IS BACK! 🔥
Back on his feet. Back on guitar. Back to rock and roll like never before!

After taking nearly a year's break so that our vocalist and lead guitarist Renier Renz Kruger could recover from an unfortunate stroke, we are excited to announce our first gig is happening this coming Saturday the 11th of October 2025 at Lagoon Bar in Amanzimtoti.

We will be sharing the stage with the incredible Funky Uncle Charlie's Kittens the phenomenal You First and the insanely talented Drop Culture !!!
