https://youtu.be/pPwO6__yjXQ We sat down with two of our HEALSTAE camp attendees as they shared their experiences from the first day of camp to the final day. They spoke about the transition from high school life into a new environment where teamwork became important, especially when they were used to working independently.
They reflected on the challenges of adjusting, learning to communicate better, working with different personalities, and understanding the importance of collaboration and responsibility within a team.
Their experiences show that the camp was not just about activities, but about growth, teamwork, and preparing for the transition from high school into the working world.

Healstae Camp Awards Ceremony
As our time at Curtis Nkondo drew to an end, We gathered for a beautiful awards ceremony just taking a moment to celebrate growth, dedication, and the spirit that carried our learners throughout the camp.
While academic excellence was proudly recognised, we also made space to honour the incredible talents that lit up the camp and the learners who showed remarkable improvement along the way. Every award told a story of effort, courage, resilience, and commitment.
And to those who may not have walked away with a trophy or Certificate , your journey and progress have not gone unnoticed. Sometimes the greatest victories are the ones still unfolding, and we are incredibly proud of every single learner who showed up, gave their best, and embraced the experience.
Because at Healstae , every effort, every step forward, and every learner matters.

MOCK EXAMS 📚 Day Three, The Final Stretch
As Healstae Camp reaches day three the final day, our learners stepped into one of the most important moments of the camp the mock examinations.
These assessments are more than just tests, they are an opportunity for learners to measure their understanding, sharpen their confidence, and prepare themselves for the academic challenges that lie ahead. After days of learning, collaboration, and guided study, today marks the moment where preparation meets performance.
We believe excellence is built through both knowledge and practice, and the mock exams form part of that commitment to academic readiness.
Day three is here, the pens are down, the minds are focused and our learners are rising to the challenge.✍🏾

The camp is now fully in session, the focus has shifted strongly toward the academic component of the Healstae experience. Learners have been allocated into four to five study groups, each guided by a subject leader who helps facilitate discussion and learning within the group.
At Healstae, we do not believe in simply depositing knowledge into learners. Instead, our approach is centred on withdrawal drawing out the knowledge, curiosity, and potential that already exists within them. Through guided conversations, problem-solving, and peer learning, learners are encouraged to actively engage with the material rather than passively receive it.
Within these study groups, learning becomes collaborativeand purposeful allowing every learner the opportunity to contribute, question, and grow academically.

Curtis Nkondo kicked off Day 2 bright and early with energizing morning aerobics, setting the tone for a powerful day ahead. Learners gathered to stretch, move, and get their bodies active, reminding everyone that a healthy mind starts with a healthy body. The session was filled with movement, energy, and laughter as learners embraced the morning with enthusiasm and team spirit.
This refreshing start feeds directly into the HEALSTAE Methodology, reinforcing the importance of health, balanced lifestyles, and academic excellence. With the energy from the aerobics session carrying through the morning, learners are now ready to dive into the day’s Mathematics sessions and teach-backs, where they will engage, collaborate, and strengthen their understanding.
The day wil continue with team-building activities, before closing off with moments of creativity and expression through the debate and talent show giving learners the space to share their voices and talents. A truly jam-packed day of movement, learning, and growth at camp.

Learners have been thoughtfully allocated into study groups, allowing them to work closely together, share ideas, and support one another throughout the learning process. These spaces foster collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence.
With the Healstae team guiding each session, the camp continues to build an atmosphere where discipline, curiosity, and academic growth remain at the heart of the experience.

Healstae Camp is back again at Curtis Nkondo, and this time around we are bringing together our Grade 9 learners for this beautiful journey. We have gathered all the relevant parties from the African Youth Development Fund, together with the rest of the dream team from Healstae Camp, to ensure that this three-day camp becomes one for the books.
Healstae stands for Healthy Lifestyles and Success Through Academic Excellence, and the search party is already in full swing, working tirelessly to make sure that not only do we host a successful camp, but that the safety and wellbeing of our learners remain our highest priority.
Most importantly, we are not doing this alone. We are joined and supported by many of our partners, including the CPF, SAPS, and the Police Brigades, all standing with us and supporting this cause for the benefit and future of our children.
