Our LEAD ABC programme, facilitated by Kobie Jones, is proving to be a highly effective way of developing leaders in the workplace.
This course replaces our previous Basic Management Principles programme and has been redesigned to better support both learners and employers.
With only two face-to-face training days, learners spend less time away from work while still receiving meaningful support and guidance. Assignments before and after the training help learners apply what they have learned in real workplace situations.
A key benefit of this format is the ongoing involvement of the facilitator, who supports, encourages and guides learners throughout the process. Direct supervisors are also encouraged to play an active role, helping to create accountability and lasting growth.
We continue to see excellent results from this approach and are excited about the impact it is making in organisations.

This is Chrissie, a strong and determined woman from Malawi. She made the difficult decision to leave her children at home so that she could come and work in South Africa to provide for them.
Most of what she earns is sent back home to support her daughter and two younger children. Chrissie is not afraid of hard work. She stands firm in what is right, leads faithfully in her church community, and continues to persevere through many hardships to make sure her children have food on the table.
Women like Chrissie remind us what courage, sacrifice, and resilience truly look like. ❤️

Meet Cosmos — one of the new supervisors at Maloneys Eye and a real asset to the team.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Cosmos shared during our second session that he is saving diligently so that he can pay lobola and marry the woman he loves before the end of 2026.
He is positive, motivated, and deeply committed to building a successful future. His honesty, determination, and strong values make him a respected leader among his peers.
It’s inspiring to witness people growing not only in leadership, but also in purpose and vision for their lives. 👏

Betty recently started her journey as one of the new supervisors at Maloneys Eye, and this was already our second meeting together. From the very first session, things slowly started shifting in her life.
She shared that she began praying more, reading her Bible regularly, and praying with her children in the evenings. Without her asking or pressuring him, her husband started joining them on his own. She also shared that he now wants to marry her.
Betty is a beautiful example of quiet strength and leadership. She is already adding incredible value to her team, her family, and the farm community. 🌿

Wondering why Nelson has a pink balloon on his vehicle?
We did a Group exercise at including Management. He enjoyed it so much he decided to keep his balloon with him that day!
They’ve discovered the following in order to be successful:
- Team must have a leader
- when problems accrue first stop, re-evaluate, make changes and move on.
- everyone must work together
- keep to the rules of the game
- trust each other, the one after me and the one infront of me
- pay attention to detail in performing the instructions
- move as one
Team building isn’t just a “nice to have” — it’s where connection, trust, and real collaboration are built. 🤝

Here’s what 👇🏼
When teams laugh together, solve problems together, and step out of the everyday routine, something shifts — and it’s more powerful than most people expect.
✨ Communication becomes clearer
Barriers drop. People feel more comfortable speaking up, sharing ideas, and actually listening to one another — not just responding. The result? Fewer misunderstandings and stronger alignment back at work.
✨ Trust grows stronger
Trust isn’t built in meetings — it’s built in moments. When teammates rely on each other in new, sometimes challenging situations, they begin to see each other differently. More human. More dependable. More connected.
✨ Creativity flows more freely
A change of environment unlocks fresh thinking. When the pressure is off and energy is high, ideas come naturally — and teams feel safer to explore, suggest, and innovate without fear of getting it “wrong.”
This is why team building matters. It’s not about the activity — it’s about what the activity unlocks.
And when that shift happens, teams don’t just work better… they want to work together. 💥

🌱At CFG, our Supervisor Development journey focuses on building strong leaders through self-development, leadership, and management skills.
In this exercise, learners explore their uniqueness—recognising their individual strengths and building confidence in their own abilities. Because when you understand your value, you lead with purpose and authenticity.

💪🏽Strong teams are built on strong communication.
We had the privilege of working with the management team at Maloney’s Eye again this month, guiding them through a practical communication exercise designed to sharpen both listening skills and the way instructions are given.
From Che and Jaco tackling the first challenges, to General Manager Marno working alongside Nakietha, each moment highlighted something powerful: communication isn’t just about speaking clearly — it’s about truly hearing, asking questions, and confirming understanding.
Because when teams take the time to listen well and clarify what they’ve heard, mistakes decrease, trust grows, and everything flows better.
Real growth happens in the doing — and this team showed up ready to learn.
