Single Eccentric T-Bar Butterfly Valve
Selling points of Paltech S.E. & D.E. HP Butterfly Valves vs. conventional rubber lined Butterfly Valves (Resilient Seated)
Customer Benefits
Larger bore, superior free flow area – less presure drop – Resilient seated Butterfly Valves higher pressure drops.
Low break and closing torque due to thermo-plastic materials –Resilient liners can swell causing severe friction – can tear and scuff.
50 bar pressure can be achieved with the T pressure seal – Rubber liners are limited to 16 bar.
Smaller actuators can be used on higher pressures – above average size actuators must be utilized for rubber lined Butterfly Valves.
Paltech HP Butterfly Valves are suitable for temperature up to 500°C – Resilient seated Butterfly Valves temperature limitation ±200°C.
Low maintenance costs ±25% of the cost of a new liner-Resilient seated Butterfly Valves maintenance cost absorbent.
Positive disc drive – no pins, fasteners or difficult splined shaft connections.

Valves have a primary and secondary rating. The most important or primary rating is cast, forged or stamped on the valve body.
The primary rating in these standards is the cold rating e.g. PN32 cast on a bronze valve means maximum 32 bar pressure at a temperature of -10°C to +100°C.
With every primary/cold rating there is a corresponding secondary/hot rating. Thus, the above temperature rises to maximum allowable working pressure decreases.

Single Eccentric T-Bar Butterfly Valve
Ten reasons why engineers and specifiers select ‘PALTECH’ Butterfly Valves for high performance applications.
Exclusive, patented angular seat and disc design, offset to the body centerline, presents no interference with the shafts; both disc and integral body seat are perfectly spherical.
Absolute shut off by means of a T-Seal (thermoplastic) and an o’ring (elastomer) fixed to the disc groove periphery. This allows for wide seat/seal selection and low cost simple replacement ability.
Exceptionally low operating torque as the unique disc seal is not reliant to wedging or distorting actions for closure. Smaller size actuating devises can thus be utilized.
High strength drive and support shafts to disc convection. No pins, keyways or fasteners to loosen or corrode in service. Assemble and dismantling of the valve is simple.
Self-aligning disc. Seating on a high precision machined seat, integral to the body has a prior to closure wiping action. The angular seat prevents solids build-ups. This combination leads to extended seat life.
‘Paltech’ Butterfly Valves offer compactness, low headroom as well as a light weight design.
‘Paltech’ Butterfly Valves are equipped with a pressure energized sealing system that offer higher pressures and better sealing abilities (Class VI – Bubble tight)
Due to the wide range of exotic alloys available, ‘Paltech’ Butterfly Valve materials of construction can be predicted for optimum performance for prolonged valve life.
Availability – short lead times.
‘Paltech’ Butterfly Valves are 100% South African manufactured with South African products by South Africans

Valves are widely used in industry for isolation and regulation of fluid in pipelines.
They can be categorized in two types.
Linear Valves of which the closure device moves in a straight line into it’s seating area and across(at right angle to) the direction of the flow and Rotary valves.
Rotary valves (quarter turn) of which the closure device rotates about the axis at right angles to the direction of the flow and, in the open position either the flow passes through or around it.
