Shifting from work-life balance to work-life flexibility.

Everyone has a different workflow based on their priorities. Work-life flexibility has been found to boost employee morale and satisfaction and in turn reduce absenteeism and turnover. Employees can work according to their energy cycles (for me that is 4 am) and also feel as if they have more control. This may however not work for everyone and quite a bit of discipline on the part of the employee is required. What is more important than hours clocked is personal accountability.
