Winter arrived in the Western Cape earlier than expected this year, triggering chaos in the streets as homeless people in vulnerable living conditions rushed for food and shelter.
Fortunately citizens really showed up with immense support, with the The Haven Night Shelter WO Cape Town, Pavement to Pillow campaign. đ§Ą
Approximately 60 people were already moved from the streets into the shelter!
The Haven Shelter aims to move as many homeless people from sleeping on cold streets to safe shelter, warm meals and support services, as conditions on the street are often unlivable.
They're often pushed into overdrive as soon winter weather shows up, and with the unpredictability of this weather, they always need to be prepared especially since peak winter hasn't even arrived yet.
The campaign started in April and will run until the end of September.

Children up to the age of five partake in early childhood development classes at The Kings Childrens Home.
The program focuses on early literacy, numeracy and play-based learning. We want to develop them in the most holistic way possible to ensure theyâre able to reach their full cognitive and physical potential in the future.

Welcome to Helpmore! đ
Did you know there are many charities in South Africa who are quietly doing their impactful work, but nobody hears about them?
Weâre here to bridge that gap.
Many non-profit organisations across South Africa are doing incredible work in the community but are going unnoticed due to their lack of digital visibility and strained infrastructures.
We identify and select small charities that are doing big work, and supercharge them through various ways such as;
- â Infrastructure investment
- â Salary support
- â Web Design
- â Setting up Donation Platforms
- â Social Media support
- Fast, Break-through funding
At this moment, we actively support 15 charities with a strong focus on Youth and Sport, including many other community-led NGOs.

Founded by parents who lost their son, Sam, to a rare condition known as Central Core Disease, Footprints 4 Sam is dedicated to easing the burden of families taking care of children with complicated illnesses.
With April being Samâs birthday month, Footprints 4 Sam wanted to honour his life by creating a nurturing space for babies and their mothers. As a tribute, the Kangaroo Mother Care Ward at Rahima Moosa Mother & Child Hospital was upgraded for the second time with new lockers for the mothers, a refurbished kitchen and staff area, and repaired bathrooms. They also continue to fund monthly Wi-Fi access in the ward.
Thank you to all those who help us spread hope among families. Samâs legacy continues.

âMommy and meâ classes takes place once a week at The Kings Childrens Home where volunteers take care of the babies for the day. Itâs a special moment for both the children and volunteers.
The babies feeling safe with various caregivers, and the diverse interactions help them learn about emotional cues and interaction styles early, which enriches their development.

Congratulations to Sanata Charitable Trust for earning a 9-star rating on the Trust Index!
This recognition is a powerful testament to the Trustâs transparency, accountability, and consistent impact in the communities they serve.
Being rated on the Trust Index matters because it gives donors, partners, and beneficiaries clear, independent insight into how an organization operates where funds go, how programs are delivered, and whether promises are met. In a sector built on trust, that kind of visibility is everything.
